When we found this apartment during the week of Christmas 2022, we knew it had to be ours. Well, Jacques did because I wasn’t there and never even saw the home before we put an offer on it! I was in Arizona at the time visiting my parents before Christmas. Jacques was supposed to fly out to meet me there and spend Christmas with my family.

Jacques found our home on Streeteasy. He thought it was too good to be true but headed to see the apartment anyway. It was perfect. We were both so excited but didn’t want to get our hopes up. I remember vividly watching the video tour and being on FaceTime with him while he toured the apartment. It was perfect. Shortly after, we closed on this beautiful apartment. We were thrilled!!!

We couldn’t move into our new home until a few months later, which just so happens to align immediately after our wedding in April 2022. It was quite the busy start of the year for us- planning a wedding and simultaneously packing up our Williamsburg apartment for the move.

A few months later, we got married, had a little staycation mini-moon in Arizona, flew home and immediately packed up our boxes and drove into Manhattan, our new home base.

We didn’t get to enjoy the apartment just yet, because the months leading up to our move, we decided we wanted to do a little design which then led to a whole renovation. Yup, we lived through the 6 months of renovations with 100s of boxes and contractors walking in and out of our apartment all day long. We had a lot of fun memories during the process though - we would buy lunch for the guys every friday, Jacques and I migrated sleeping between all the rooms through the process, while the contractors were painting, wallpapering, ripping apart the kitchen, doing a bunch of electrical work, to really make it our home. We learned so much through the process, we had to be patient, we had to work through challenges, we slept in a room with racks of clothes, boxes scattered all over the apartment as newlyweds, but we wouldn’t have had it any other way. We watched our apartment transform into our home, a place where we will have family and friends over, a place where hopefully we can start a family together, cook together, dance together, grow together, all the things. I’m so excited to be able to share all the details of our home because every single corner of it was curated with a lot of love and time. We couldn’t have done it without our amazing interior designer, Lauryn Stone. She is one of the most driven, hardworking, woman i’ve met with such an eye for design. She’s a genius and we are so lucky to have worked with her on this project!

We chose WHITE DOVE Benjamin Moore for everywhere in the home. It’s a beautiful off-white and not too stark. For our bedroom, we chose MARITIME WHITE Benjamin Moore to compliment the wallpaper that was already installed on the accent wall.
